PME Dissertation- Perceptions of Formative Assessment

I know this post is probably a year too late, considering what has gone on with COVID and Hybrid leaving certificates; but better late than never right? I am finally graduating (almost a year later) from my PME from Hibernia; a two year journey that brought me to places I never thought I would see or venture to again. It brought me back to my love of research which is why I am writing today.

I am not foreign to research at all, having done a Masters and a Phd before I ventured on my PME journey, I was not immune to the pressures and trills of the research world.I had not experienced, however, the wonders of an integrative literature review. I found it harder than the traditional research path and it challenged me in ways I never thought I would be challenged again. It gave me a purpose. I did have a 2 year old to split my time with and a few bouts of writers block and brain fog but I got there in the end as I always do.

I chose this topic as it interested me a lot and it was one that I was passionate about. My tutor was supportive and there was lots of research already conducted that I could use as part of my integrative literature review. I am publishing it on my website as it may be of help to the research community involved in education and the perceptions attributed to it. I would love to talk to anyone that is interested and if you have any questions you can contact me on the website.

Yours in education, Niamh.
